BIOGRAPHY:
Alanis Nadine Morissette was born on June 1, 1974 in Ottawa
in Canada. It begins the piano at 6 years then the ballet dancing
and jazz at the 7 years age. Early, she writes her first song
at the 9 years age. She records its first disc: "Fate stay
with me" at the 10 years age and decides that it will make
career in the song. A 14 years, it creates its label and in
1991, records its first album entitled "Alanis", mixture
of music pop/dance. This album obtains an immense success in
Canada and becomes platinum disc. Following this success, it
leaves a second album in 1992, "Now is the time".
The disc is sold badly and Alanis is the target rotten tricks.
It decides to flee Canadian musical industry and leaves to settle
in Los Angeles where it signs at Maverick (the same label of
Madonna). The world recognition arrives with "Jagged Little
Pill" in 1995, an album which she entirely wrote and which
is sold with more than 26 million specimen. After an interminable
round Alanis takes really conscience of the madness which surrounds
it, it decides to make a station-wagon.
In 1998, it leaves
the album "Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie" then
is tested with the cinema in a film of Kevin Smith, "Dogma".
In 1999 following a passage noticed with MTV UNPLUGGED leaves
an acoustic album and 2002 should be waited until to find Alanis
in its fourth album studio: "Under Rug Swept".
Alanis set out again in studio at at the end of spring 2003
with the goal to find a spontaneousness in its writing for its
fifth album "So Called Chaos", left in May 2004.
